Veneers

Dr. Kim Will Enhance Your Smile in Just Two Visits

Veneers are thin shells that we place over the front surfaces of your teeth to eliminate imperfections in your smile. They’re made from durable, tooth-colored porcelain or ceramic to ensure a stunning appearance and long-lasting results.

Dr. Kim will customize your veneers so they fit perfectly, giving you the smile you’ve been dreaming about. We can use veneers to treat a variety of cosmetic issues, including:

  • Chipped and cracked teeth
  • Stained and discolored teeth
  • Crooked or misshapen teeth
  • Gaps between teeth

The Veneers Process

Getting veneers is a fast and easy process. In many cases, veneers can be made in a single visit with CEREC® technology. If you need more than two veneers, we’ll send your impressions to a lab and provide you with temporaries while you wait.

In roughly two weeks, we’ll have your veneers ready so you can return to our office to complete the procedure. Dr. Kim will make sure the fit and color of your veneers are perfect before using a special dental adhesive to bond them to your teeth. At this point, all that’s left for you to do is enjoy your beautiful new smile.

The Benefits of Porcelain Veneers

Easy to Clean — Veneers don’t need any special cleaning products — just brush and floss every day.
Improved Self-Confidence — Thanks to veneers, you’ll never feel reluctant to smile.
Long-Lasting Results — With proper care, your veneers can last ten to fifteen years.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why do I need dental veneers?

Dental veneers are the ideal treatment for anyone who wants to rid their smile of minor to moderate imperfections. At Glen Mills Dental, we can use veneers to correct discoloration, chips, and even gaps in your smile.

Can I brush and floss my teeth after veneers?

Yes! Even though the materials that veneers are made from are resistant to disease and decay, your gums and other tooth-supporting structures are not. Brushing and flossing your smile will help ensure that the veneered teeth last for a long time.

It’s also important to note that you should continue your regular hygiene appointments with Dr. Kim as you have in the past.

After getting veneers, what habits should I avoid or stop?

Dr. Kim uses a strong dental adhesive to secure the veneers to your teeth. However, that doesn’t mean they’re indestructible.

For the best results, we recommend stopping all bad teeth habits immediately. This includes anything that puts unjustified stress on the veneers, such as nail-biting, straw chewing, fork scraping, opening bags with your teeth, or pulling on clothing or gloves with your teeth.

What happens if one of my veneers comes off?

First, try not to panic. Accidents happen, and while it’s rare, sometimes a veneer can come loose. As long as the veneer isn’t cracked or chipped, it’s likely that Dr. Kim can resecure it.

While the veneer is off, you may experience sensitivity to cold foods or liquids. The best thing you can do is call our office and explain the situation. We’ll schedule your appointment as soon as possible.

The worst thing you can do is try to reapply the veneer yourself, using crazy glue or any other adhesive. Without the help of a trained dentist, you could ruin your smile and the veneer, creating an array of expensive, time-consuming dental issues in the future.
